100 Mile Ultra training

100 Mile Ultra training

12/02/2019 Update.

Hugely disappointed to not be fulfilling my 100-mile ultra challenge this year. My plans changed dramatically on the 13th of January when I fell and damaged my right knee. I have had 4 weeks off training and I am still recovering. I hope to be back training in the next couple of weeks. In total that will be 7 wks off. I will leave the post here as a reminder of my dreams. And, also as a reminder that circumstances change. You have to adapt and keep on trying.

I have set myself a huge challenge for 2019. The Centurion Running 100 Mile grand slam. In 2018 completing 5 Ultra Marathons seemed impossible to me, but I persevered and got through it.

This year feels even more impossible a task. X4 100 mile distance events, all with less than generous cut off times.

I am going to give it my best shot. My training hit a block before Christmas due to illnesses and workload. I have now re-started my training in January 2019, I have also decided to give up Alcohol for the next four months whilst my training intensifies. I need all the help I can get. If your reading this and are thinking of doing an Ultra. JUST DO IT. OR JUST TRY AND DO IT. Good luck all. I will keep you posted on my progress.
